Nice pics of the paddocks I must look for mine to post I think I have some of the hut b4 the renovations.
Is that a Fairydown Snowcave tent I can see on your pack? its a good tent pity they stopped making it as it was well priced for a 4 season unit.
Did you venture up to the top paddocks and visit Wadleys Hut ,that is the most magical setting and visitation from the Quoll at night would have to be a highlight of any bushwalk .
There is also several good side trips from Wadleys ,cross the Mersey and head up the hill to Bishops peak (pick you own track) or head on up to the last Paddock and pick up the track to the Overland (exit 10 mins from Kia Ora)lots of opportunities if you have the time and experience.

When those pics were taken we were on a trip which took us up the reedy lake track to pelion plains. Next day up pelion west and back to pelion plains.Up mt ossa the day after and on to camp near kia-ora hut. .
Following day we looked at most of the mersey falls finishing at windy ridge

Final day we walked to narcissus and then kept going down the side of lake st. claire to cynthia bay,arriving around 7pm.We go picked up at about 10pm for return to hobart and to work next day at 7.30am

The tent in my mate's pack was a eureka stockade which isn't an expensive tent but does the job o.k.

I haven't explored the paddocks fully,but I must return shortly to venture to the top paddocks, wadleys hut .etc

If I could jump on board here, rather than start a new topic on Lees paddocks, I thought I would just add on to this one.
These photos were from two separate walks we did to Lees Paddocks, 15-1-2005 and 5-1-2006.
They are here to help in the discussion on this topic.

Firstly, one would not be a complete member had he or she not got a photo of this bridge...

Just down and to the left from here is a nice little area I remember that may be a suitable place for our Rendezvous -

As usual Adam triffik photos the only thing I did not see on my many trips were the wee frogs (heard them tho).
My Wife came up with the idea that a calander may be in the offing,what do you think.

Sheesh... just showed my wife these photos, and she said, "oh that's right I remember we saw lots of little frogs there". I don't remember them at all! My memory must be totally shot! At least next time I pass through there, I'll be like a gold fish... "hey! look at these frogs!".

Yeah, nice photos adam. Lewis and Oxley Falls are a really nice pair of waterfalls. I imagine they flow well all year round. I took some shots of the falls (none of the bridge though, must be something wrong with me) when I was up that way earlier this year. Oxley makes for a nice little panorama too. Oxley is particularly good value if you can get out onto the shelf next to the falls, or underneath. Was a bit slippery to venture far out when I was there.

Nice shots caveman. the 5th is my fav i think...the light effect in sky is sweet.

what sort of camera you using? If its a DSLR then you need a good sensor clean. In the 5th shot there is a huge dust bunny...

Heh worked this out for myself...its a KODAK C340 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA which due to its fixed lensnessness means it must just be a smudge on front element. much easier fix

Hi Tas, no such fortune to carry a DSLR in there. Only take the cheapo digi, too many killed cams from the odd river dunking to risk it.

The sunset on Pelion East was spectacular. I had the paddock all to myself that night, last walkers vacated mid afternoon.

Fishing was pretty good too, love the mixed bag of browns and bows from the upper Mersey. Just another dimension to an otherwise awesome location.

Was interesting to note no flow down Wurragurra Ck as it crosses the paddocks, Feb Plains must be pretty parched. I am planning a trek up the Arm Tk in March, hopefully with a little more rain up there to spruce things up a bit. Some "phat" fish in the headwaters, but a solid walk in there after the climb up to Lake Price.

Dust bunny, smudge... whatever man, that's just what the government want you to think.... it's a UFO and you know it!

One of the shots I got of Oxley Falls...

I have updated my Waterfall shots to include a photo of "Oxley Falls". I thought I had reached Lewis falls, so I walked upstream looking for Oxley and I found a small set of falls. Oh well, I had to go back when the rivers was up anyway! Do you have a photo of Lewis Falls?

Nice pics, is the bridge open now though looking at the river level the ford would be no problem it just saves the bother in taking boots off

You don't need to take your boots off to cross the river Corvus. The bridge is up but not "open". It still has a sign advising that it is awaiting an engineer's inspection.

Does that mean the Mersey waterlevel is such that it can be crossed dry footed also was there much water in Wadleys creek or at Ladder falls .

There was very little water in Wadleys creek as you can see from the photo of Ladder Falls. Wurragarra Creek was very low. If you pick your spot you can walk across (rock hop across) the river and keep your socks dry. There was a little less water over the Oxley Falls than when TasAdam took his photograph.

Thanks for that info I guess the water supply to Lees Hut is also not working.

There was water at the tape at Lees Hut.
