8 pictures & a tale.
I did mean Paddys Nut but pehaps as you will see it means me. I went in on the Arm River track on that wet and windy Tuesday arriving at the Ossa-Thetis saddle in a howling gale and a little damp. Found a beautiful campsite in the pines from which I could hear the wind howling over the saddle but not even a ripple from the tent. What a spot and many thanks to those who made the site.
The next morning was misty and didn't clear until late in the morning so I got a late start. Up Paddys Nut then along the ridge to Thetis. Wandered around a bit and went down to Leonards Tarn arriving from around the southern cliffs of Thetis.

It was getting a bit late as I made my way up Achilles but when I saw that I could get down the other side to the saddle I decided to head for Perrins Bluff even if I was likely to finish the return journey in the dark. Its quite a way to Perrins Bluff and essential that you don't ascend too early, its that final gully that you need. Then back around Perrins and under Achilles on those lovely open grassy slopes and down to Leonards Tarn.

Not feeling like going back over the top of Thetis I decided to traverse around the side. What a mistake that was! The scrub is terrible and seemed to be neverending. It was dark as I made my way back up to the ridge and off under Paddys Nut back to camp. At least the GPs helped with the navigation. And rock hopping by headlight wasn't too bad. At least the rock was dry. In the morning the rocks had been wet and quite slippery.
