Hi all,

With intentions of a Pelion circuit taking in Thetis/Achilles/Perrins and Pelion West thrown out the window within a few hours of starting my trip - clag to ground level, high winds and rain on day 1 meant I wasn't too keen to camp at altitude..
I went into back-up mode and camped at Pelion Hut for a couple of nights.
Any pics with blue sky were pretty much all taken on day 2 in the afternoon with the descent from Mt Ossa and the trip over Mt Doris being the major highlight of my trip. Awesome!
Met Phil from the forum on Ossa summit - he had run in from Arm River in 4 hrs
Other than that an early morning trip up Pelion East gave me some descent views over Lees Paddock.
With low cloud on day 3 I decided to count my blessings and headed out after making a sidetrip up Mt Oakleigh to view the cloud in close-up detail

A great area I will hopefully visit again in nicer weather with that stunning circuit walk my goal again

Cheers, sbs

Nice photos sbs, I particularly like the vertical version of decent from ossa, pity about the clagged in weather though.

Thanks Michael,
It's my wife's favourite as well and my favourite part of the walk - the clag does give me an excuse to go back though :)
Cheers, Dan

Great photos Dan, I love the native cat cleaning your pans. Our weather on the same 3 days in the Cradle area were pretty good apart from the very very windy night on the 14th. The top of Cradle was under cloud most of the time, though Little Horn made an appearance. The Fagus was really good with some almost finished, some still green and some a lovely golden colour.
Cheers Sue

Thanks Sue,
Peter emailed me a bit of a trip report with links to pics, glad you had a good trip and your campsite was beautiful!
The native cat was almost tame, kept coming back, I got great video of him/her crawling over my feet, even let me pat it.
Hope to walk together again soon, Dan
