Lady lake in the snow

Having a few days off I decided to get into the bush, but with a recent toe injury I had held back from doing a big trip, deciding instead to have a wander up to Lady Lake.
Being solo I took my time on the way up, stopping to take a few photos and drinking from the many creeks flowing across the track.
Finding the hut empty, I then read some books, skimmed the logbook and drank tea for a few hours.
It started to snow quite heavily soon after nightfall

But around 10pm the snow had stopped and it was completely calm. A surreal atmosphere.
Morning arrived with an awesome sight

I plodded around to check out lady lake, but decided against walking to the edge of Nells Bluff as I had planned after plunging both feet into icy water holes
On the way down I passed two blokes with skis who were planning some cross country, and I reckon they would've had a great time.
A great overnight trip made awesome by a heap of snow.

Thanks for the comments. I really enjoyed that little trip.
This is a place I've been multiple times before but it's a great spot, quick to reach and has a real sense of wilderness. Like much of the tiers really, any of the tracks are great for a walk when I'm not sure of where to go on a clear day.

Nick,
Love the pics. I've never seen enough snow at Lady lake to have it settle on the hut. Looks like a great value trip to a great value hut. Everybody look after the hut wont ya, it's a cracker!

Here I am *waves to everyone*. Just been busy, that's all!

Have been lurking in the background. Haven't done a lot of walking lately, but off on a bit of a wander this weekend.

Heh, thanks spec. Yeah I hadn't been on any bushwalks for a few months before last week, so I was pretty quiet on the forums myself.
