Bushwalking Centrefold!!!

Postby stepbystep » Mon 21 Feb, 2011 1:32 pm

First time for everything, this is in today's Mercury supplement.
Taken on Australia Day on a walk to Mt Bowes - scan from paper so it's cruddy quality.

Edit: Should point out forum members rohjoh and myself with a lady from HWC present, photo Mark Nelson from HWC.

Nice one mate, great section of forest through there.
I notice Rohan is the only one looking at the camera, and a little creepily as well

Yeh it was a nice section of forest, thought about adding speech bubbles - I know what I was thinking at this point...

 It does suck, rather. One of my partners friends does scientific field research and ties high vis marking tape to every single thing she takes with her. VERY hard to miss it when you put down something with flouro pink plastic ribbon tied to it.

CHORUS
When will I, when will I be famous?
I can't answer, I cant answer that
When will I see my picture in the paper?
I can't answer, I can't answer that

I'm just jealous...

It's not cool that I know of that song!
I have a mate in Melbourne, he used to sing it. I blame him for it, I sometimes think of it, this topic brought back some '80s memories.

Yes

I did post a LINK in my earlier reply.

EDIT
And WalkinTas just posted a differnet link, but I didn't notice that link until I quoted it here.

As I said, I only knew of it from a mate that used to sing it. And I have never seen them before. And as forum admin, I am very tempted to edit that photo out and issue a warning or something lol

Now that's a good idea. No more picking up the wrong gaiters at huts or sea to summit bags or boots for that matter (I have seen this happen with very unfortunate but funny circumstances). How many of these things are out there. Same brands, same colours. Gaiters are always black, wet and muddy, and do wear out in the same way and there is always someone who wears the same size as you. And everyone shifts them when they hit the hut landing, so no one knows where they have gone! Apologies for the rant. One of my pet hates is missing gear.
Back on subject, nice picture. There had to be a bushwalking photo on Australia Day. A public holiday and no one hitting a track somewhere or bagging a peak is just not Tasmanian.
Cheers
Andrew

Leave "Bros" alone. The original boy band way way back in the eighties. Two fine Scottish boys making wad loads of cash for singing a load of crap. Fair play to them is what I say.

Forum member Gerry Duke is the latest centrefold - at least his photo is, Marriotts would have to be my favorite waterfall in the South - nice pic Gerry!

It's quite good and easy to follow as far as Bowes turnoff.
