Great pics... looks like you guys had a great walk. I'm completely unfamiliar with this walk - what's the wooden thingies in the first two photos?

Great series FF, looks like a nice area with a good waterfall.

Hi Nick, the wooden "thingies" are parts of a ladder on the right to make easy the access up the steep rock to the upper level. The thingie up top is probably a bed [four poster no less]. I thought Corvus was going to have a little lie down ,but didn't really have time.

The rock hole is quite large and sheltered from the prevailing weather and even offers rural views.

Cheers FF

Here are some pics I took before damaging my camera, including a closer shot of the bed (click for a bigger version):

The rest of the photos I took are here. If anyone who's in one of those shots doesn't want their picture up on the net please let me know.

The Gnomes in the first picture are part of a now unavailable Geocache. There is another active Geocache further on at Bastion Cascade. The second two feature the bed, the next three are a huge rock wall followed by what I believe is "The Croft". The bottom three are a large cave on the Croft track, the top of the falls and bit of a view from the top of the falls.

I was wondering where Bastion Cascades were, then the photo of the bed rang a bell. Is it in the Meander Reserve near Bastion Creek?

Sure is. The walk starts at an abandoned quarry in what I believe is called Quarry Road. Just off the Meander Falls Road after the first bridge.

Here's the location of the falls in Google Earth.
