An interesting article on ABC about the "Carnivorous Koala" AKA Drop bear.

I love the distribution map. Although If I lived in FNQ, Vic or Tas I think I would be insulted.

Obviously an attempt on viral marketing (does not seemed to have been picked up), but good to see such rear animals getting the attention they deserve.

Hoop snakes for those that don't know are very nasty indeed! They bite their own tail and form into a "hoop" shape and then roll towards you at high speed. Very hard to run away from. Best to avoid if you can.....

Not quite as vicious as those snow snakes though. You'll be happily skiing along and then when you least expect it...BAM!!! they strike and leave you in a world of pain skis n stocks marooned in a yard sale. They always seem to slither away before anyone else can see it was them....

Looks way more dangerous than that contour line I tripped over when walking uphill a few weeks ago.

Clearly they got that prize under false pretence. They are obvious not ancient at all. Is just a drop bear skeleton.
