TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hi
Just saw this at
Gizmag and thought it might interest ...

The Timberland Radler's quick-drying, water-repellent ripstop tops come in red, orange and black and mesh nicely with partially-recycled black rubber soles. A removable/washable fleecy insole provides added padding and warmth, all at a reasonable price point of from about US$50-65 per pair. For those who like to take impromptu hikes or always seem to have the "wrong" shoes for the occasion, these comfy numbers may be just the ticket to next season's adventures.

Camp Shoes only, great Idea, but you must wonder how those zippers will last?
Nice way to approach compactness. What about inflatable shoes

Thanks for making me buy something I didn't even know I needed until this morning.
The orange ones are winging their way to me as we speak. The fact you can remove the plush inner sole means they might make good river-crossing shoes. We'll see, but only 40 bucks so worth a punt.

JohnM,
Let me know how you go with these, I am in the process of looking for some more compact/versatile camp shoes. Something that is light, fast drying but still great for walking if needed and river crossings.
I have looked at some brand sandals whcih seem to fit the bill but they are a bit rich for my budget. It would be great if they had an olive green, this would also suit my colour taste.

Will be also interested in how you go with them. Also John can you advise where you ordered them from?
Thanks

Eastbay.com
Used them for years. Postage is a bit prohibitive when you buy one pair, but it only increases by a couple of dollars every subsequent pair. But there's some excellent prices at the moment plus 20% off any order.
So today I ordered the timberlands plus two pairs of converse for $120 including postage. Pretty good deal.

I have been using a cheap K-Mart version of the plastic clog, light for sure and dry quick but do not compress too well.
I am pretty sure I will get a pair of these in black or if they get an olive green.
