Did it really happen or not ?
Did WHAT really happen. Interesting rumours anyway.

Just noticed this thread...
Regarding locations, no-one has mentioned the puddle where the shooting and thylacine sighting happens. I visited that puddle after watching the film and was stoked to see 'thylacine prints' were still visible in October. They may still be there now.
Check-out the photos here. Photo 3 has the print and photo 4 shows where the Thylacine was chased through twisty, stunted myrtles.
Can anyone else pick the location of this key sequence from the film?

OK- I have a gripe about this movie. Now, I'm a pretty green-minded individual, and I support the more modestly radical "greenie" groups, but I didn't think the portrayal of the forestry community in Tassie was very fair. I hate what they do for a living, but all the forestry guys I've met are top guys, and certainly not the thugs portrayed in this film. I 100% hate what they do, but I'd still happily have a beer with them. I can't see them shooting off guns at people and so on. Maybe it's different in the south part of the state. Am I wrong?

This little snippet is far more confronting than anything on The Hunter:

Oh dear. I stand corrected. Oh well- maybe I will buy a copy of it after all.

Yes you have to be careful in the South. Much more dangerous then in the north. One cannot go bushwalking unless wearing complete bullet proof gear and helmet....
What a remarkable comment.......

G'day ILSWT,
I enjoyed the 'north v south' turn this conversation took with Drifting's comment. May parochialism reign supreme! I'm amused that Drifting bases his DVD purchases on whether or not there are disgruntled, angry, spur-of-the-moment outbursts that actually exist in real life.

Ha! Heya TT, Yes a bit of Nth VS Sth never goes astray huh....
You know I missed that last point due to being too gobsmacked by the thought of angry loggers from the "far south" of Tasmania wandering around unsupervised shooting people at will......

I for one make ethical decisions when purchasing as often as I can, and will not support a company that misrepresents people in an injurious way. Am I wrong in doing this?

Idiots with nothing better to do. They deserved it IMO.

This was just released on Apple TV (iTunes Australia). You'll need to search for it as it doesn't show up on the main movies page yet.
I'll be watching it tonight since I didn't see it at the cinema

I went to the pictures yesterday, and a trailer was shown for this film (i.e. The Hunter). It is getting a general release here in the UK in early July.

For anyone with pay TV, this movie is premiering on Movie One channel on Foxtel July 20, 21, 26 and 27. The online guides don't go out that far, but I assume the programming would be the same for Austar?
