TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a 3 man hiking tent for under $200? I am not super rich and can't afford a top of the line brand. Needs to be used on the Overland track in a month or so.
Companion have one for $199 but I can't find a review anywhere.
Cheers
Peter

Search the Coleman avior x3 on ebay. Should fit the bill. My first tent was a Coleman duo and its still going strong. Now spends its days up on the main range after selling it to a friend.

Or maybe get a second hand Caddis of eBay?
Although even a new Caddis is good value at the heavier end of the market

I have a Coleman Phad X3 that is excellent if you are not too tall. If you can find one of ebay, it's around that price. Not made anymore though.

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas.
I found a Sierra Designs Zolo 3 Tent - 3-Person, 3-Season via the States.
I don't like buying things unseen but it seems to meet my requirements so I took the plunge thanks to a good exchange rate at the moment.
Cheers
Peter
