Hi All,
I am going to be walking the South Coast Track in late September this year. However, I have recently realised that I will be walking during the AFL Grand Final.
Does anyone know if I will be able to get any kind of AM or FM radio reception down there?
Cheers,
Steve

Should be able to get AM reception during the hours of darkness (get the result) but nothing during the day.

The volunteer caretakers on Maatsuyker Island might be able to keep you updated if you take a marine two way radio!

Just get a friend to send you SMS messages to your sat phone regularly during the match. Easy.

Have a rest day camped up on the ironbounds that day. Almost certain to get reception up there.

Could anyone ever be THAT desperate to follow a game of footy?

If the hawks were playing, i'd even spend a rest day in the OT huts just to listen.

Wouldn't it make more sense to stay home and watch the *&%$#! game?

Can't recall there being a camp site up on ironbounds. Sat phone/sms is the go.

No need to worry anymore guys.
I've broken my foot and won't be walking anywhere soon.
