TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

My crappy old Black Wolf daypack. It cost $18, has been on my back for hundreds thousands of kilometres, gone up well over a hundred peaks in Tasmania, it's ripped, stained and smells of my sweat  but I can't bring myself to replace it. Oh and my car :)

At the moment I cant get enough of my black Mountain Equipment Fitzroy jacket. Primaloft insulation keeps me warm and the outer fabric is windproof and has a great DWR. It has kept me warm during blizzards, wandering around Japan in winter and recently hiking in Tasmania, in a boat off Bruny Island and at a very wet Salamanca markets. It doesn't look to shabby with a pair of jeans if required. Awesome bit of kit.

I love my new tent, a lightwave t0 XT, and I love my camera a Panasonic LX5. But my favourite piece of gear is my 15 year old floppy hat which has been on my head for immeasurable hours be it on the beach, in the garden or on a mountain. I'm surprised that I haven't started to call him "Wilson" yet ;)
