iPhone zoom adapter

I love my iPhone 4s and am always looking at ways to extend its use. One area where it's weak is taking photos where a zoom is required. For example, I took a couple of snaps of some eagles soaring above me on a ridge top, but all I got was a couple of specs.

I found this thingy and am wondering if anyone has tried it or something similar.

I do wonder if something so cheap would be of decent quality

Hi Andrewbish - did you find out any more info? I too love my phone, and I love gadgets.
I just bought myself a compact Canon Powershot (50 x optical zoom) as I can get good distance shots without having to bring along bulky lenses like with my DSLR (EOS 600D). It weighs approx 550g.

Can be bought cheaper overseas eg from eGlobal, but Canon Aust won't uphold any warranties etc
This device looks very appealing for shorter trips where I don't want to bring a bigger camera.

Edit - lol I just looked at the price - I'll buy one (and the mini tripod attachement) and see how it goes myself. If it's a dud I'LL BLAME YOU!!

We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box

Hi OSM

I ended up buying this little beauty: http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/ ... hoto-lens/

Paid $17 freight to get it to Aus. The lens weighs 55 gms, the tripod weighs 80 gms.

It seems good quality. I like the zoom, but wonder if 8X is worth the cost/weight. Only got it a couple of days ago so still need to give it a proper test.

Andrew

FYI - the telescopic lens is sh*te, but the little tripod that came with it is quite handy.

What is wrong with the lens? I haven't ordered (aka has been to lazy to order it) the lens yet
How is the tripod good compared to one of the little gorilla type ones?

The 8X zoom isn't enough to be of practical use. You can achieve a similar result just using the digital zoom (as my daughter demonstrated to me with a smirk).

Can't really make a comparison, but can say that the tripod is very light, the legs are very adjustable, the iPhone gripper is firm and I found it really helpful for dim light photography ... and for selfies!
