Batch convert .ozf2 files to jpg

Does anybody know an easy way to batch convert Oziexplorer ".map.ozf2" files to jpeg files (or .png, .bmp , .tiff or whatever "normal" image format)?

An Ozi "map" file is a text file that contains geo-referencing data for an associated "image" file (the map image). Ozi works with a range of map image formats so a bit more info on the format of the "image" file you want to convert would be helpful.

I strongly suggest that you head over to the GPS Australia forums have a search around and if you can't find an answer then join up and ask. Friendly crowd and always willing to help so I'm sure someone over there should be able to help you.

Cheers,
Michael.

The .map files are text files that contain the grid references and size of map plus the location of the actual map itself. The actual map is usually a .jpg file. (For example Cradle.map would have text with the Oziexplorer map references and the a folder location pointing to Cradle.jpg plus calibration points for that jpg (or perhaps .bmp) file

In any event to convert image files Paint.net is good as it converts many formats.

Whoops I mean I want to convert ".ozf2" files to a normal image format! For some dumb reason I was thinking the other way around (that the ozf2's were the data and the .map the image)!

Thanks for shooting me down nice and quick guys

Do you have OziExplorer? I think it can output a jpeg of the area being viewed.

As for batch conversion, haven't seen anything. Where do you want to use the resulting jpegs?

That's what I thought you meant. :) Easy to do one-by-one in Ozi much harder out of Ozi.

This may work:
http://smartcomgps.gpswildmap.com/download/ogf2tool.html
or this:

Haven't tried any of these so can't say if they will do what you want but could be worth a try.

Cheers,
Michael.

On Mac OS X you can use Bit Map Imager. Current version does it one by one. A future version should include a batch mode. Works for ozf2 and older ozfx3, but not for newer ozfx3.

I've also used ogf2tool in WINE (DARWINE).

Just used Smartcom link from above and it works great to convert a very large map I have to .png format. Thank you for providing the link.

I have one map that has the VNC flight maps for Canada's Northwest and Nunavut territories all sewn together as one image and one map file. If printed full size they would fill a wall; floor to ceiling and probably run 20' of so in length.

I would like to reproduce an area around Yellowknife that has a high concentration of my personal waypoints. The finished print size will probably be around the size of a sheet of plywood (4' x 8'); this is my target size anyway.

Is there a method to print the info (image and waypoints etc) from oziexplore in this size range. I would like to be able to use a large format printer and only have to worry about joining a couple of sections.
Anytime I try to do this straight from oziexplore it doesn't work out and I end up with 100 odd sheets of 8-1/2" x 11" letter sized sections.

Thanks for your help!
