Does any one know who stocks Asolo boots in Hobart?
Wed 21 Nov, 2012 6:16 pm
The Jolly old Swagman.

No, I didn't know Who stocks Asolo boots. I hope he doesn't stock too many, it would make first base pretty crowded.

Does What stock anything?

You seriously need to lay off the coffee Adam.

Thanks ILUVSWTAS for that - I'll be paying the jolly swagman a visit. I'm used to scarpa but they are not making many of their styles in wide fittings any more (especially leather boots).

No problem!
They do look a good boot. Bit too expensive for my liking though. I'd need to know I was going to get more than 2-3 years out of them.

You probably wouldn't. But they are sooo comfortable.

So are the Zamberlans. And (sometimes) $200 cheaper.

What Zambers are you wearing ILUV? I have a pair of Trail Lites, and they've taken ages to break in but are finally getting comfortable now.

These ones bud.

I've got these ones

A basic boot, but I wasn't complaining for $150. I've had one blister - on the Achilles caused by wearing Explorer socks.
How do you find the Goretex? Hot? My Merrell approach shoes are near unbearable in even slightly warmish weather

Yeh explorers suck pretty bad.
Nah they are fine. If it's hot, all of me is hot. I cant say i've ever thought to myself, "gosh my feet are hot"

Good to know for next time round. I've been eyeing off the Vioz

Yeh I like them. Had them around 12-16months now, and for me that's a long time for boots. So happy with the durability.

On the subject of socks, I have also been told that Explorers are bad compared to .......
But I have never either remembered the brand mentioned or forgotten to ask about the brand.
I currently wear Explorers and I do have some blistering issues, makes me think.....
I am interested to know what socks others are wearing?
Cheers

I use either:
Icebreaker Hike Lite Crew
http://au.icebreaker.com/Hike-Lite-Crew ... efv1=Socksor a no longer available merino version of these from Mountain Designs (mine have "Thermolan" across the toe and are my favourites!)
http://www.mountaindesigns.com/online-s ... rodID=1247The issue I have with Explorers is that they are not fitted and therefore bunch up behind my foot when going downhill. My achilles then chaffes on the bunched up fabric causing a blister. Aside from bushwalking, I wear Explorers nearly every other day otherwise.

I wear Wilderness wear.
