The new edition of 'South West Tasmania' has been sent to the printer. Delivery is scheduled for June 2nd.
The new 5th edition has 224 pages and includes 75 days more walking in it than the previous 4th edition. It is printed in full colour throughout with colour topographic maps of all the major walks, along with gradient profiles (graphs of climbs and descents). Lesser known tracks or minor routes have track notes but no maps as it is essential to have the 1:25,000 TASMAPS for those routes. The book includes 141 coloured photographs and they appear opposite the text they are illustrating plus three photographs on the cover.
The retail price of the new edition is $37.50. It is available direct from us for $32 pre-publication price which includes postage within Australia (price expires first week of June). We can only accept cheques, money orders or cash, a tax invoice is sent as a receipt with all orders. Books ordered direct from me will be posted within 2 days of me receiving the books from the printer. Orders should be sent to
John Chapman, PO Box 5042, Laburnum, Victoria 3130
For those who wish to purchase copies in their normal retail outlets, the 5th edition should be generally available in the shops that stock my guides within about 2 weeks of the above delivery date.
Also going to print at the same time and of interest to some, will be the 2nd edition of 'Overland Track' and also the new guide 'Larapinta Trail', a major walking track near Alice Springs. The Larapinta Trail book retail price is $29.95 and is available direct from us at the pre-publication price of $25 (price also expires first week in June) My website at http://www.john.chapman.name will have details of these books. The pre-publication price is only being offered to those who have contacted us by email, the website will show higher prices and you can ignore those until June.
