Lees Paddocks Long Weekend

Wed 11 Mar, 2009 7:42 pm

Spent Saturday and Sunday at the paddocks with Pomysi and the Taswaterfalls'. There was mostly noone there, we spent some time exploring the surrounding areas:

Image
Lees hut, first thing in the morning. It was chilly, so Mr. TW.com lit the fire.

Image
The second set of paddocks where Wadleys hut is situated. It's lovely up this end, like a little meadow almost.

Image
Wadleys hut. How quaint! ;)

Image
Ladder Creek Falls. Not the best pic, but hey, it's worth pointing out that they're right there near Lees hut and well worth a look.

Image
The slightly harder to locate set of falls up in "The Cauldron", on the Wurragarra Creek which we were directed to by a colleague of TW.com. A really good set of falls, just a shame we couldn't get a little closer! There's a video of the falls here, which show them a little better.

And this is Gus, Fun Gus, he's a Fun Guy! ;)

I thought that Tassie was THEE South island unless you count that Sheep Station to the SE of us which is full of folk who want to emulate the Australian way of life IE Cricket ,Rugby but they dont even have a Footy Team so what good are they except for some OK bushwalking gear (made in SE Asia now mostly) so Tassi ROOLS OK !!!

There's a lot of scottish heritage in Sth Is. NZ, particularly Dunedin. I'm surprised you haven't thought of taking your kilt and your sporran over for a look Corvus. Sounds like you need to embrace our bros from across the ditch! You might find that nice NZ vodka to your liking even! ;)

Did consider it once but looking at what Tassie had to offer I decided to spend my money here.

I trust the scotsman in you certainly knows where best to spend his money, so that confirms Tassie must be pretty darn good then! ;)
