Leonards tarn

I spent the first 5 days of 2013 on a trip to Leonards tarn. Walked in the Arm river and camped at Pelion by the creek. Walked over Thetis on a warm sunny day to Leonards tarn. Explored Leonards tarn, climbed Achilles and walked up to the saddle between Perrin's Bluff and Achilles. Next day it was a scrubby walk down the forth river to frog flats on a hot day, after a 90 minute lunch break walked up to warragurra creek looked for the Smurf hut to no avail and camped by the creek.
Great start to the year!

It is scrubby between Leonards and Frog Flats, isn't it?
Taking our time a bit, but we did it in the other direction with heavy packs and covered the 3km in 6 hours.

I took about 4 hours downhill with lightened pack. Nav easy with the river.

That's a beautiful area. Did the same a couple of years ago. Same way in and out and climbed Perrins as well. The walk down to Frog Flats is a bit scrubby with a lot of tea tree but we found it possible to pick out quite a few clearer areas. I can't remember how long it took. (And now I've looked at my pictures I see it was actually 6 years ago.)
