Can't fit all your gear in your pack!!!!!!!!!!!

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I think it is highly irresponsible to let a 5 year old girl carry a full 60L pack.

Looks like some of the OT walkers you come across.
Nothing to see here.

The best I have seen on the OT was a girl with a big back pack on her back + two big black plastic garbage bags full to the brim of clothes. It was wet and the bag was full of holes. I don't think she made it past day 1 and by the time they got to the hut it was full so they had to set up their tents.

Luckily the guide from one of the guided groups let them set up on their platform

I think the OLT seems to bring out all types. We saw a girl with a tiny day pack in a denim mini skirt and canvas shoes (looked like the old Dunlops) when we walked from Windermere to Pelion. It poured with rain for two days and then proceeded to snow. We did wonder how she was coping as we didn't see her again.

It's very odd what some people wear. When we were coming down from Rawson's Pass to the Thredbo chair lift at Easter after a night out near Charlotte's Pass, we passed people walking up to Kosczi wearing Tshirts and thongs, many people with no gloves and no hat (and very wet hair as it was sleeting), a LOT of people in very damp jeans, some poor Korean tourists in matching flapping ripping yellow plastic suits that looked like some type of radiation protection, and one intrepid adventurer slogging up in ill fitting black clomping gumboots.
We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box

All just shows that too many modern walkers are too soft and too obsessed with gears. Adventurers of past did it with far poorer quality equipment and less supplied, yet they conquered. ;)
Just move it!

I see two problems with that pack ;
1) no sternum strap
2) the side pockets look hard to reach

"Does it come in any other colours?'

Good point. I dislike the blending in bit, I want colours that make me stand out from the crowd.
