TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Annoying if you run out of flint. Give me a firesteel any day.

I have one ( a firesteel and luvs it - actually one of those macpac generic orange ones, and it is daBomb!...), but.... how long does the flint last, does it work in rain, pros/cons vs firesteel etc.. that's my query

I doubt it would work in rain. Regular lighters don't work with a wet spark wheel, and is precisely the reason I no longer bother carrying them.

Ive got a solid titanium fire piston, but ive never seen a ti gadget like that.
I like it! Surely it must have the facility to house a bunch of spare flints ie. Zippo flints?
However i really cannot see it throwing sparks even remotely as well as a quality fire steel.
OK... googled it, bout 20bux on ebay and youtube:
