TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Water resistant down quilt

I understand that water resistant (WR) down products have been on the market for a year or so now. Has anyone had any experience with the product?

It seems to me that a light WR down quilt may be a good replacement for my light synthetic bag/quilt for tropical camping in the hammock. I expect for a 8-12oc quilt I would cut the weight from about 800g currently to possibly 400g or so. But the down needs to deal with the damp, humid, often sweaty situation . Any thoughts on this application?

I'm very keen on following this topic. As I am in the same boat as you, I'm also keen on a quilt with the same temp rating, that is very lightweight.
