I wasn't referring to you wayno, sorry I was not clearer.

I can't believe a union official whom was obviously close to the action can go into a public arena and put out false information which may or may not damage a company without finding out the facts. I would have thought that if that release of completely misleading information had damaged the macpac brand he would be liable at very least.

How do we know the "union official" that posted in here is in fact a union official?

I hope I am not the only one to enjoy the irony of this little side discussion.

It is a good thing to be able to have industry reps involved, pretty unusual though. The forum would benefit from various government reps getting involved here but even that hasn't really happened in any open, formal way.. despite employing them.

Whats wrong with zero hour contracts anyway? Iv'e always though it silly that to employ someone came with a set of rules assuming business owners are going to otherwise start a sweat shop. Keeps union officials in a job I guess.

Cheers Giddy. Answers that!
Forgive me by my nature im quite untrusting of online sources where vested interests are concearned...just read a few of the mainstream "news" website comments and its easy to see whos been handed party fact sheets for the day

So it appears JeffS is a legal adviser. Surely he would therefore be aware of any legal breaches potentially made in making the false information public.

Hi all,

Looks like there are a number of people here keen to find out who hit the upload button for our recent posts. Well that was me, Daan, and I’m responsible for Product information/education here at Macpac. I’m not a legal expert and all I did was upload a company statement we wanted to get out to rectify false information that was posted on this forum.
There was never an intention to not be open, transparent or personal, but in our opinion this was incorrect information directed at Macpac as a company which warranted a company reply. Besides, I assumed you guys aren’t really called Strider, Wayno or Perfectlydark? :D

we could all start identities saying we're representing anything we like at all....

Wayno, this is an interesting statement given the false information that was published by Jeff and then posted on here. What interests me even more is how you were able to post a private letter, written by Jeff to Macpac. I would truly appreciate a PM with an answer if you are happy to share.

With regards to the original issue, Jeff has apologised to us and the matter is now closed.

Since I have created this account now I will no doubt come back to post my 2 cents when appropriate. However, I will be unable to have the same level of engagement as Blacksheep had for Macpac in the past. I keep an eye on numerous forums, appreciate all the feedback I can find, but simply don’t have time to engage with everybody.

On behalf of Team Macpac,
Daan

Thanks for that Daan, I look forward to seeing contributions from you not only as a Macpac employee but also from your own vast personal knowledge that comes from working with such a company.

Hi Daan,
Presenting yourself in your first post on the forum would have been nice though.

THE Private letter was posted on the facebook page created by the union legal council he put the link to it on the facebook page himself, so it was in the public domain.... i have no affiliation with that union or anyone in it, someone i know pointed out the facebook page , i'm not aware how he came across it , he is not employed by the union. his profession means he is not in that union either
