Is there a worse feeling...aka ' I need to go right now'

Sat 31 Aug, 2013 11:39 am

So I don't hijack the other thread, I started another, semi related to my last post about plastic bags and dog poo, lol

Laughing as I read this

He must have had the ' Is there a worse feeling?' as a) he realised what he needed to do and b) as he flung the stone off into the abyss, then instantly realising what was going to happen.

Maybe this should be retitled 'How I met your mother'?

Where's the worst place you've 'had to go'?

Anywhere in the bush is better than beside the road.
I'm walking around Australia and, believe me, when you're plodding along the roadside at 4-6kms/hr there really are not very many appropriate places to drop your daks

In a busy foreign street shopping area that has no public conveniences within sight... The beggings and desperation. So much easier in the bush.

A couple of years ago I saw a woman 'doing her business' in the under pass at Flinders St Station - not far from a public toilet.

When I read the other post, this issue did come to mind.
Worst spot was at Waterfall Valley, around Boxing day, before the days of the booking season & prior to the new loo, when you had over 100 walkers staying overnight,
Waking up the next morning with stomach cramps, only to find a long line for the 1 & only loo down past the old hut  .

Annapurna Sanctuary, with a party of people with Serious Diarrhoea. Not too many rocks big enough (and close enough!) for a little privacy.

But the urgency of the need provided the quote of the trek. It was from a guy, seen semi-sprawled in 'crab walk'-like pose: "Sometimes", he said, "you're not even looking for a rock!"

A few weeks ago in brisbane waters np I had an awkward encounter as I turned a corner to see an elderly lady pants down apparently just finishing her business. Awkward for both of us but she couldnt have been more than a metre off track, not sure why youd think thats a good spot to go...

I saw something similar at Cape Hauy. She got up so quickly she dropped a panty liner in the process - I didn't have the heart to embarrass her any more than was already the case! The stupid thing was her walking partner passed us 20 seconds prior and said nothing

Why I'm admitting this on a public forum I don't know.

No problems when out in the bush, but I shat myself on the Paris Metro in peak hour a few years back. Sometimes you don't realise you need to go till it's too late.

Some things are etched in your mind forever. South Cape rivulet 1994, still remember the year............ Stumbled upon a young lady inserting a tampon. I didn't know what to do, suffice to say l was out of there real quick.

Why do people think next to a track is an appropriate place to do these things!!!?

Because it's return to nature. Do you ever see creatures in the wild worry about privacy? They do much more than just those things.

I can't respond from a personal point of view.....but I do recall a story of one of my wife's family friends who let fly with what he thought was a fart, whilst wearing tight white jeans.

Is there something wrong with me that I have never had a situation like this whist going commando in bush......? Maybe it's the Scottish blood??!!...even though I though I was generous!

Many years ago I was travelling in far eastern Anatolia (Turkey) over an extremely rugged mountain range in a mini bus packed with non-English speaking Middle Eastern men. Very few westerners ventured to this part of the world so I (a scruffy stout red head that looks like a Viking) and my pretty Russian girlfriend where quite the freak show, my pretty Russian was also the only woman on a bus..... About half way over the barren mountain range, my pretty Russians stomach and lower bowel started making sounds like a prolonged underwater fart (bluuuuuurt bup bloop bluuuuuurp etc), she was not well and had a look of pure panic in her big brown eyes......The intensity of the stomach/bowel bubbling was growing by the minute and the bendy mountain road with precipitous drops was not making her feel any better. With growing discomfort and beginning to panic, my pretty Russian decided it was a good idea for me to ask the none English speaking bus driver if he could stop the mini bus (on a bendy single lane road) so she could release the wrestling belly demon and all it’s associated evil...... I suggested that was not a great idea, considering 1. did not know the universal sign language for 'exploding poo woman' 2. we were on a very barren dangerous mountain road in a bus full of traditional Middle Eastern men and 3. we had no toilet paper (they use water there).... Anyway to make a long story short, the 1st Gulf War started a week later (it really did), not saying it's my fault but.... My pretty Russian never got over it and left me a few years later (after another telling of this story) and I fell in love with a pretty Welsh girl that I married. I am yet to find a moral to this story :-)

I need about 100m off the track! The problem is that some tracks are so serpiginous that just as I've calculated I'm far enough off and/or nicely hidden, I hear voices and realise the track has curved around in front of me and I am, indeed, within metres of it.

On this subject I was down griffins farm on Friday and I'm thinking of renaming it Poo Paper Flat. Seriously the place was covered in the stuff and literally some spots it was a few meters from the fire places, these people are actually camping in there own crap?

All this talk makes me want to carry coffee filters and a "Poo-Tube"

Never a problem in the bush but using one in town is a totally different matter
