Hi.
Here's one for the Hobart locals ...
Anyone know of a (reasonably direct) track between the mountain (say Ferntree) and Taroona?
I figure there must be something that connects Ridgeway with Mt Nelson? Or a way between Ridgeway and the Lea and then down to Taroona? (skipping over the Southern Outlet at some point).
Google Maps aren't super clear on the area.
Thanks for any advice.

There are a number of tracks from Ridgeway Dam through to Tolmans Hill.
Mt Nelson to Taroona is simple, down the Truganinni Track
West of the southern outlet has a lot of fire trails too. Very boring country.

Hi Strider.
Thanks for that. I'll check out your suggestion of a track between Ridgeway dam and Tolmans. I figure you mean the uppermost of the 3 dams, right?
(reccy for a school camp)
Cheers. Frank

There is only one dam at Ridgeway, the lower two you refer to are in Waterworks Reserve. The track starts at a gate on the northern side of the dam right next to the road, next to a water tank from memory.
