I still can't believe the geese would stay still for it. They tend to be pretty stroppy birds.

Wet wipes seem to be something synthetic and probably not good to bury in the bush. You can get packets of "moist toilet paper" in supermarkets which has much the same characteristics, but is flushable and presumably biodegradable. There are even small travel packs. Indispensable if you want to clean up easily.

6g per day is what I've used when things were working well. That's about 35 sheets of single-ply. 35 sheets per sheet.

Multiply that by 10 if you're terrified of the thought of alternative methods were you to run out.

6 grams per day is commendable precision (I can't bring myself to call it anal gram counting  )

On a practical note, variations in the density of the paper could lead to a shortfall.

On short trips, I just take a generous part roll, which is always too much.

For longer trips - eg 8 days, simply start with a full roll at a certain date in your at home life. Don't let anyone else use your roll. At the end of eight days see how much you have used. If you want a safety margin, add it, and there you are. Simple and, barring gastro problems, accurate.

And yet again, I find myself in agreement with Onestepmore - T/P is not an area where I skimp on quality :D .

Good one! The 6g was an average (42g in 7 days), not a precise amount used each day.
I usually take more than typically necessary since what is necessary for me varies.
But the OP asked for an estimate of how much is needed.

One way to figure it out would be to keep track at home. Weigh the roll at the beginning and end of the week and see what you use. I've done this at home with sunscreen. Weighed the tube, lubed up, weighed it again. I found I use about 10g of sunscreen to cover face, neck, arms and legs (wearing running shorts).

The bandana quotes were for fun. My plan B is to use water, like the majority of the people in the world do for plan A.
