Lake Naomi

Postby jockster+ » Fri 10 Jan, 2014 6:15 pm

Hi, has anyone walked in to Lake Naomi? Just thinking it would be a nice place to camp and take walks from.

Cheers, Jim.

Not Naomi, bu I have been to Malbena and Olive a few times. The Gowan Brae road is in fair condition, and can be followed most of the way.

While the walking in the area is quite open , it isnt as open as it's northern neighbors, but is less scrubby than it's southern and western neighbors.

Beautiful lake is Naomi, been there many times.Used to be a nice hut there but burnt down some years ago.
There is the wreck of an aircraft in the scrub on the eastern shore to add interest.
Lovely camping there mainly on the western shore.Cross the Little river just below Olive lagoon then follow old 4wd track on eastern shore to about half way then up the hill and over the top and back down south easterly to Naomi. Walk in a clockwise direction and camp spots will be obvious. Enjoy.
