Any idea how much longer it'll be there?

I went to have a quick look at this exhibition today and ended up spending a few hours! The highlight for me was being able to experience Olegas Truchanas's 1970 Lake Pedder slide show (in digital format). It runs for about 25 minutes and I will be coming back several more times in the next year to enjoy it again and again. The exhibition catalogue is superb and contains additional material and articles that provide supporting commentary and background to the works displayed. I couldn't take photos of the exhibition of course but here is a selection from the catalogue for those outside Tasmania. I believe that it will be touring mainland centres after it concludes at the QVMAG next February.

PS - the catalogue can be purchased on line here if you can't wait for the exhibition to come to you

Ditto. Delighted to be able to return over the next year after a frustratingly brief viewing last week. Very much looking forward to seeing all of the Truchanas slide show, and to seeing the illuminated Dombroskis from the mezzanine floor.

Damn. Wish I'd known it was on.
Oh well, I'll be down for good before the end of the year. It'll still be there.

I went to this exhibition a couple of weeks ago - it is well worth seeing (I ended up going twice). Did anyone else notice that one of the pictures is wrongly captioned? Its the Smithies one - that is shown above (Tas-man's second post) of him sitting on a bit of dolerite. Its similar to this one in the archives -
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tasmaniana ... 2326929496The caption at the exhibition states the photo shows Mt Pelion West in the distance. This is wrong. It is taken from Pelion West and shows Mt Thetis (and Leonards Tarn and a bit of Achilles) in the background.

Dave, was that in Sydney? If so where?

No - in Launceston. I think it closes pretty soon.
