Of course its from the top of the Acropolis, when I look at the view a bit more carefully.

The irony is that norts put in the same shot last Wednesday with a little more snow in it.
But as soon as I saw the comments I thought - oh it is from Geryon!

Try for the name of where this photo was taken

Nice weather. I'd love to see it like that. Somehow, it always seems to be grey and getting worse whenever I'm there.

It was fairly early in the morning and very frosty. Some pools were frozen.

Flat enough and treed enough and the light looks the same as - Pelion Plains. However, I don't recognise that lumpy bit either.
So, once again (and a bit like last time),

I reckon you would know this distinctive peak if you enlarged it a bit.
Are you sure your monitor's OK
And yes - it is not the Pelion Plains
It has a rather special name.

Though I have heard the name before, it has been long forgotten.
And yes I did recognise the rocky bits as very geryon - Acropolis like (having just revisited them) but the foreground had me stumped.
I could ask where is this "bowling green" but it rings a bell, I remember seeing something like this on the right as I came down the OLT.

tasadam

yes - its just off to the right(west) of the track shortly after stony creek and before the Pine Valley turnoff.
I wondered what it was, having seen it marked on the map, but it is about the only open grassy (not button grass) area along the track.

Covered in frost that morning - which hardened up the ground. I suspect it would have been a lot boggier underfoot if not for the freeze.

Here's another view from closer to the track.
The white is frost covered grasses and frozen ground.
You have to go across it to get the view of the Acropolis

That's correct flyfisher, looking across the Leven River canyon to the Loongana Range, which is crossed on the Penguin to Cradle Trail. Here's a view from the end of the Loongana Range looking across to the lookout platform
Anyone up for a new submission?

No takers yet, so here's another panorama. Where am I standing, and for a bonus point 8) what peak am I looking at in the centre.

Yes - you get the bonus point I reckon walkinTas
You can almost see the Winterbrook Falls.

But I suspect the trick with this is to realise it is from about the Leven Canyon again.
I will guess its from the Griffiths Ridge [Loongana Range] side - as per his photo looking across the canyon up the page.

Congratulations eggs, you are spot on. This panorama was taken from a little back from the photo from the end of Griffiths Ridge on the Loongana Range that I posted above. walkinginTas gets the bonus point for picking Black Bluff. To get these views you need to head out for a only a few minutes along the top of the ridge from where the Penguin-Cradle track crosses the range. Your turn again eggs 8)

May be a quiet day - although last 2 days had 8 posts each

This one should be easy - only a short walk - but there is a specific name - and yes - it is a telephoto shot

Looking at the body of water I think it would be Lake St Clair, but as to where the shot is taken from is a mystery to me...

Yes - Phil has it.
There is a short road out to the Frankland Beaches - a preferred spot away from the madding crowds and where the local rangers go to windsurf.
A lovely long and sandy section of beach - perfect for a picnic.

Although this particular photo cannot be taken from the beach proper - it is a short walk to the nearby point to look up the full length of Lake St Clair.
A great view - though perhaps rarely visited.
