Haven't been there as yet but I think it's Mt Field West
Wed 01 Jul, 2009 11:32 pm
That's funny, I thought I just made a post. I should know where that's taken from and looking at - I spent a lot of time walking at Mt Field when I were a lass. That isn't K-Col is it? I do remember we used to time ourselves going up a scree slope on the way back from Mt Field West. Or was it on the way there? Or was it called something else? Aren't memories of your youth supposed to get clearer as you get older?

Dunno about that DA. I'm having enough trouble just remembering the rules of the game. It's "where am I?" not "what's that?" Doh!
Anyway I think it may be from somewhere WSW of Mt Field West. Back to the drawing board.

johnw, you've got it near enough. Your turn.
It's mount Field west taken from the Florentine valley.
First time I saw it, it had me guessing a bit too.
No Eggs, I'm an evening forum person but usually also a short morning session

Is it Lady Lake?

Yes, correct Kramster

. I walked a lap of it on my only trip up there to date, in May last year. I took that shot while sort of half lying on the ground near the creek that flows into Lady Lake, looking back towards the hut etc.
Your turn...

This one shouldn't be too hard either.
Nice place for a sunset...

Lake Judd from near the SHelf campsite?
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 11:23 am
...........or from the High Shelf camp area?
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 11:29 am
Getting warm Phil... but its not from Shelf Camp...
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 11:33 am
I suppose it's the Mount Eliza summit then?
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 11:38 am
Near enough... I think the peak on the right is Francis Bluff... just a general "Eliza Plateau" would have got you across the line too.
Your turn

Looks like I'll be doing all I can to walk the Mt Anne circuit next summer......or maybe the Western Arthurs......or maybe I could finally do the Overland Track......
I really need to get out more!
Anyways, let's go with this one......some familiar peaks in the distance

Being a southerner with not so much time spent up north this will be a bit of a guess.
I'll take a punt that you are on or around Mt. Roland area (the conglomerate seems to indicate this + the perspective to the Reserve).
Might be totally off?
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 1:57 pm
no, you're not totally off stubowling......you're certainly heading in the right direction
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 3:03 pm
phil
are you on Mt VanDyke?
although I suspect you are only just approaching it from the west, coming up from the track junction in the saddle
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 3:10 pm
You are spot on eggs. We have not long left the junction in the track and are heading up the western end of Mt Van Dyke. It was a glorious day; we then walked the length of the plateau to the front of Mt Roland and then back down the track to Gowrie Park.
Over to you....

The game is currently averaging about 6.5 new photos per day.
Some are accessing during the day(work), some at night and a few throughout.
And this will be the 124th image.
I do think, to last, it may reduce to 1 or 2 a day.
People may feel reluctant to answer or post if they know they will not be around, or don't have photos at hand.
In some ways, delays due to absence may help string it out - and leaves people to discuss the photos at more length.
The difficulty also varies a lot, but I think that can be a feature of the game - testing some who like a challenge, while allowing others to contribute quickly.
For now - apart from some long breaks during the day, it is going steadily.
This panorama may be a bit harder - see if you can identify the peaks.

OK, it looks like the Heemskirk range in the distance behind Zeehan, so it could be from Mt Tyndall or Mt Geikie? I can't find my maps so I can't work it out
Thu 02 Jul, 2009 6:26 pm
Its been a bit quiet and you got the Heemskirk range and Mt Zeehan right so I will give it to you
The place is the side of Mt Tyndall about where the track reaches the edge of the plateau.
The mountains from left to right are Zeehan, Agnew, Heemskirk and by far the biggest, Mt Dundas.
Behind Zeehan and stretching far to the left is Ocean Beach, but that is another photo.
Over to you Devon Annie

I thought it must be from Mt Tyndall, just threw Geikie in as another option. I would have known for sure if I'd actually been able to see anything when I climbed Mt Tyndall. I've spent a lot of time on the West Coast over the last 20 years 4 wheel driving and motorbike riding so it is one area that I'm fairly familiar with.
Unfortunately I now haven't got time to post a photo, I've got to go and play squash, so it won't hurry the game up, sorry.
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 12:01 am
I haven't got any ready to go, and haven't go time to organise one before I go away tomorrow. Sorry folks, somebody else will have to post one.
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 8:13 am
For the sake of keeping the game moving along I'll throw an easy one up
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 10:40 am
Must be school holidays coming up - I know I will be walking for a few days next week in the Flinders.
Anyway - is this taken from Gould Plateau looking across at Byron, Cuvier & Manfred?
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 10:46 am
Spot on eggs....I was thinking everyone had lost interest.
Over to you
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 10:58 am
Perhaps every body has if its only you an I on here
Anyway - here's the goodies
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 11:10 am
That's gotta be Tarn Shelf and Rodway Range... probably taken in summer by the looks of the fagus
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 11:43 am
Yes Kramster
It is about half way along the Tarn Shelf. I put some other photos from that walk in the Gallery.
Your turn
Fri 03 Jul, 2009 11:52 am
Wow!...my 100th post... and the 900th for "the Game"

<insert warm fuzzy feeling here>
See if you can get this one...
