Easter bushwalk alone or with trek company

Postby Watertank » Mon 14 Apr, 2014 8:56 pm

I have all of Easter free and I am looking for some suggestions of 3-6 day hikes - I don't want to walk somewhere too isolated as I will be on my own and so seeing other hikers would be good - or does anyone at this late stage have suggestions for operators that don't charge an arm and a leg for basic organised hikes? Anywhere in Australia would be fine - looks like NZ is out as the airfares have gone through the roof.

The operators charge an arm and a leg. They then get to keep a toe's worth :)
Overland Track would have to offer the best chance of joining a tour on such short notice?

Tassie would be happy to have you over Easter.
If you don't do the OL track, I'd suggest doing a selfie into Pine Valley /Labyrinth - bound to be a few people around.

That's true, Pine Valley or any of the popular track walks over Easter will have 'traffic'. OLT is booked out for private walkers but pleanty of others in the area or around the state (Tas east coast?)
