Hi John, there is probably a bit of zoom involved. I'm not on the OT and I'm further north than Benson Peak.

Well, I have a shot that I think was taken from Crater Peak, that is very, very similar . . .

It would. As I said, you are getting warm, but not Crater Peak and not the horse track.

This is a tough one - as the angle to be able to see Perrins Bluff and get that angle on Barn Bluff swings you west from the main tracks.
So I guess it is from a track from Hounslow Heath connecting to Cradle Plateau via Riggs Pass.
but I suspect it is from just as you are getting onto the Cradle Plateau proper from that approach.

It was so hard because its a less well used track. Yes its the Riggs Pass Track at Riggs Pass, which was why I said "the track or the place".

Your go eggs.

Scavenger was a kilometer away. TasAdam only had to remember the conversation over coffee.

I was wondering about Hounslow Heath, but I didn't think it'd be high enough to get that much of Perrin's Bluff in the shot. It's the only other track that's on the right line. And, of course, none of my maps show any connection via Riggs.

This track is on the other side of the valley and climbs up onto the Cradle Plateau. Eggs was probably remembering I walked the H Heath track. I came down of the Heath and walked on up to the Plateau via the Riggs Pass Track. I think this track may even be closed at present. The shot is not H Heath, but as eggs said, as I came onto the Cradle Plateau.

It certainly isn't on any of the current Parks maps. I should dig out the relevant Topo and check that. If I can find it . . . if I have it . . .

Yes - it is curious how tracks appear and disappear.
It happens to show up on google maps, but not the List.
I did not remember your walking, but I remembered there was a connector from Hounslow Heath from a long time ago (Honeymoon again  )

This one is a panorama and needs to be enlarged by clicking on it for some vital clue(s) about the exact location.
It spans almost 180 degrees.

The view is familiar. From my own photos I'd say it's from somewhere near Narcissus hut. There's a manmade structure in the shot that looks like a sign. So I'd guess you are on or near a track. I've walked the OLT section via the lakeside but this looks a bit different. I'll have a stab and say it's from the Cuvier Valley Track not too far from the hut. Maybe just beyond the loo?

Not near Lake Marion.

There is something man-made, but not a sign.
johnw is very close, but not quite right.
If you can identify the object you should get it.

Riggs Pass Track, starts from the end of the Maryland Track, you can still see where it veers off, as you start to climb up onto Hounslow heath. Older maps show it. Fathers who never throw anything out do have a use!

I had asked my Dad about it after walking up Maryland and seeing it.

Norts or scavenger can go next.

There are 2 suspension bridges over the Narcissus, one on the Pine Valley track
And this one near Narcissus Hut

Don't think it's from Little Hugel, not that much scrub up on top but i think it's definitely from that area. I'll suggest somewhere along the top of the Mt Hugel ridge line or even from the south western slopes of Rufus.

The Southern end of Mt. Olympus seems the right angle to get Mt. Gell in the picture, but it looks to far away. ...but it will do for a second guess.

No, but the right end of the state.

Edit: The left-hand end can be seen from Quamby, but not the right-hand end. The right-hand end is very similar to another picture in the game. The Panorama covers about 110°
