TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Has anyone had any experience with waterproof sprays? Recentley watched a friend spray his boots with one of these sprays and then pour water on them and was quiet impressed with the results. Not sure what the brand of spray was, but it was in a blue can and bought from Anaconda? Has anyone used them? Intrested in how long it lasts? Any recommended brands? Any reason why you couldn't spray pack, sleeping bag or pretty much anthing else?
Cheers

I've used a silicon spray on an old tent (fly and floor) which was a real el-cheapo, but was great for everything apart from its lack of water resistance. It had to be re-applied frequently though (almost every use).

Nikwaxed an old Mont coat. Should have put the $30 toward a new one.

I should set up a web-cam in the shed (although I'll have to build the shed first).
