TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I've got one. Can't comment on whether it is any good or not 'cos I have never used it in the 18 months or so I have had it

And I hope I never have to use it.

I found the instructions. They are in German, but I think they explain everything you need to know.
"Das Maschine ist nicht fuer finger-poken und halten in der hand. Wenn dummer wanderer Dummkopf ist easy schnappen der Mechanismus, break gute bits und have Funken-helle.
Wenn alles fast kaputt, pushen das button und relaxen und watch das blinkenlichten lights."

I bought a GME 410G in July last year. It cost me $549 at Whitworths Chandlery in Elizabeth St Melbourne. I've not had to use it but it is light and compact and compares better to the others I looked at. When I had a boat I fitted a lot of GME electronic equipment over other brands because GME seem to make a higher quality product.
