I assume you mean Fire-Maple stoves and pots given that their product codes start with FM and then S for stoves, C for cooking pots. I like their products having had a series of stoves and a heater exchanger pot pass though my hands. They have been well made and have proven reliable.

My first Fire-Maple stove was a FMS-116T that I use for summer use or attach the burner head to an MSR Superfly base for multi-canister type use. I currently have the 116T (wider burner pattern for larger pots), a FMS-300T stove for solo summer walking, and a FMS-300T burner on an Caffin stove for colder conditions. The Caffin stove replaced a 117T/118 hybrid.

I had a FMC-XK6 heat exchanger pot but felt it was too heavy at 220 grams for the fuel savings compared to my modded 900ml ti pot at under 70 grams for my sort of cooking. Their new Ti pots are a nice design but a bit heavy compared to similar Evernew pots.

Another FMS user here......both the FMS 118 & FMS 117t have proven to be reliable burners,
and parts are swappable between the two, to make a hybrid.
Since they have a wider burner head, I use them with my wider based pots, such as the
Snowpeak Hybrid set without the silicone bowl.....nice solo cookset with pot & frying pan lid.

I've been using an FMS100T for about 2 and a half years and love it. Of the four or five (or is it six or seven ) in the cupboard It's the stove that goes into my pack most often. It's even succeeded my beloved gas powered trangias.

I was using an aluminium foil windscreen for a while but have now switched to one of the fire maple folding windscreens. It's a bit more weight, about 100g but I find it's less fudding around and I like the little skewers on the end panels for fixing it to the ground

I have a plain 300T for summer use and a 300T on Roger Caffins base for winter use.

I can't see myself using a Whisperlight again in Australia.

yeah all makes sense now!
I have a 117T that I use in my Trangias and so far it has proved be be very reliable over about 10 nights use so far. It choofs a little when it is cold but nothing worry about.
Might get the one with the preheat tube as well soon

I believe that you're somewhat of an enthusiast when it comes to stoves corvus (for want of a better word. Tragic does come to mind ) I'm curious, which model/s are you favouring at the moment?

Stove "Tragic" that's me .
My go to stove is the FMS100-T however I am taken with the FMS300-T and can see me using it as a back up /second stove on some trips ,that is if I ever get my knees in order and actually get back on the track.

One of the legs on my FMS-117t can extend further down than the other two, which results in an uneven surface. I am unsure if this is a feature to allow placing the stove on uneven surfaces, or if it is faulty... Any ideas?

Im like my new FMS-117T which Ive used on a couple of trips so far. Im enjoying the wider burner head and stability over my previous canister top stove.

I've had an FMS-117T for a few months and been very happy with it so far. I'm enjoying the weight saving compared to my trusty old MSR Whisperlite International. And I'm enjoying the stability compared to my mate's FMS-300T. I'm not enjoying the cost of canister gas compared to shellite or the growing collection of canisters in my garage.

Uh oh! It will stay even, including when it has a full pot on it. It's just you can extend one leg further down if you push it. This might need a little DIY repair!
