Son of a Beach wrote:The weather looks a lot like your recent photo from your trip to Mt Rogoona, and the rock does look like the top of Mt Rogoona. I can't figure out which direction you'd be facing though, from either my (very vague) memory of the views, nor from the map. But I'll make that My guess, anyhow: The summit of Mt Rogoona.
Son of a Beach wrote:PS. Actually, another look at theLIST, and I think you're looking north-east from the top of Mt Rogoona, with Lake Bill at the left, Lake Louisa to it's right, and Lake Poe the little one in front of that. Lake Myrtle would be just out of view to the left, with the Northern end of it obscured by the rounded bald-rock hill.

Yet the image shows you are still hugging the western ridge of Rogoona. so I'd say you're taking a fairly direct ascent / descent to Rogoona and are somewhere between halfway and two thirds up.

Pelion East, looking NE?
scavenger wrote:I don't recall a view anything like that from the top of Ossa - but then I've only been up there twice; the last time it was socked in with about 5ft viz, and the previous time it was clear blue skies all the way to Antarctica.
So I'll make that the next guess and if it isn't I give up.
