I'm sorry that I've mislead you, but it shows how small my knowledge of Tassie is. I mixed uup Pillinger with the Twin Spires

That's OK sam :)

It was all tongue in cheek.
Best not to get too serious about it or we loose the fun.

From either south of the High Camp Hut or south of the Mount Eliza summit looking south;
you can see the Anne Circuit track cutting along the base of Schnells Ridge spurs
& that little conical hill in the mid right is always very distinctive when walking this area.
The Anne River is running along the plain, obscured by vegetation.
Obviously, the Arthurs in background.

Your turn stubowling

Yes - there is a lovely exposed rock next to the track & just below the High Camp Hut - great for sunset photography.

This one should be easy for those who know about my struggles to attain this summit.
I'm about to knock off so if you're sure you know where I am, please feel free to go ahead & post.

Not sure I've heard about your struggles but are you on Mt Sprent looking over Wilmot Bay towards Mt Anne at the far end of the Huon-Serpentine impoundment (aka Fake Pedder)?

But this shot is across the Lake from Sprent and further south
You are right aout Mt Anne though
And the island - Mt Solitary is running out of the picture on the right

Being away from a computer I cannot complete the puzzle

You can keep posting photos which are this good.

And I think before Lake Peddar was flooded ?? - which would make it hard to go get a new one

You've got it, Jose!

It's a slide made by Keith Lancaster, not by me. I was in Grade 6 at the time

The slide reads: "From slopes of Mt Giblin, Defender Range, Thumbs, Wedge and Solitary". The date: February, 1960. The story can be read at: http://users.bigpond.net.au/dveltkamp/KeithLancaster/157FranklandsandArthurs.htm

Here is Mt Giblin from the plain on that same trip. The plain is now part of the "impoundment" as tastrekker so aptly puts it.. :D

Thanks Dirkus. It is interesting to see these photos before it was flooded. I think the the water from Lake Pedder makes a great foil for taking photos in that area now.
Here is the next photo.

One thing for sure, this game is certainly making me think more about the shapes of the lumpy bits around me when I'm out there.

Eldons in the distance, High Dome on the left (ie. photo taken from the east).
I'll let someone else have a punt based on my observations :D

I'll take a punt then - taken from Goulds Sugarloaf?
Certainly from somewhere out that'aways or south end of the Reserve at the least.

stubowling

I also initially thought Gould's Sugerloaf, but on reflection I think that would be further south. The angle from High Dome to Eldons seems to place it somewhere around the track into the Labyrinth - just as it first comes onto the ridge top.
That is one section I am yet to do, but it would make the other ridge in front of High Dome the last part of the Guardians.

Yes eggs. I am north of Goulds Sugarloaf but not quite as far up as the track into the Labyrinth. You are so close!
Sorry tas-man that excludes Achilles.

I just went looking at my photos and found a photo looking west and south of Walled Mountain.
I found an image of the point you are likely standing but don't know its name.
So, instead I will have a guess at far out on the southern side of the Walled Mtn Plateau. Between Walled and Macs Mountain.

EDIT
Here's an image looking west/south west from Walled Mtn, showing the broad plateau that I think you are near the edge of.
If I am wring then you must be on one of those lumps further away, which I haven't looked up their names.

Tasadam, I'm south of Walled Mountain. Maybe I should have mentioned that eggs suggestion that:"it would make the other ridge in front of High Dome the last part of the Guardians" is not correct.

I know. I've just been studying the image I posted and have calculated where you are but don't know its name.
My prediction is -
There are 3 distinct bumps on the left of the image I posted. Just in front of them and just to the left is another peak, almost touching the horizon.
My guess is first to name it wins...
