I recognise the wonderful combination of hydro and forestry efforts here. Is it on the Sentinels?
cheers
Peter

Right kind of area Peter, but not the Sentinel Range.

BTW - for the Orion Lakes trip that yielded the earlier pic., we walked in from Clarence Lagoon (near Lake St Clair). Passed lakes like Ina, Payanna & Kellatie. A longish off-track walk, with some tanglefoot encounters, but broadacre fagus turning every colour. Wonderful! We walked out via Stony Creek (rough, steep and very scrubby). Walked up via the Gatepost another time in adverse weather. Easier going, but didn't see anything (apart from fagus, close-up)
cheers

Yes - it is lower level than the Sentinels ... how about the Sawback Range?
Peter

Not the Sawback Range Peter, but getting very close...
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 12:28 pm
clear hill?
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 12:33 pm
Not Clear Hill dee, but also very close...
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 12:50 pm
Looks fairly close to Adamsfield or thereabouts - my guess in Ragged Range??
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 1:44 pm
Yep, you got it Swifty, the summit of the Ragged Range looking west over a fairly ugly Lake Gordon.
Peter & Dee were very close;
the Ragged Range is actually accessed from the Clear Hill Rd. (there is a fairly marginal tagged route).
Over to you Swifty

Hmm - Friday Afternoon - in a quieter week.
That's a very cold looking photo - possibly of Adamson's Peak after just breaking out onto Moonlight Ridge?
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 4:32 pm
Sounds like a reasonable assumption eggs;
I was trying to think what the little conical peak would be, your guess would make it The Calf which all seems to add up.
This game definitely goes through it's flat periods!

Ok - this one will be easy & hard at the same time ??
The mountain should be easy - but I will need a reasonable estimate on where it was taken (ie a feature name)

Mr Gould from near Narcissus, on the track past the Hut Loo?
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 7:23 pm
Right mountain - but wrong track
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 7:39 pm
Are your probably on the Pine Valley track, just after crossing the 1st bridge somewhere?
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 7:47 pm
how about on the lake maarion track?
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 8:28 pm
yes samh
That is right - on the current Pine Valley track just after the Narcissus bridge. The pond in view was frozen.
I say current because I went on a different track many years ago - and the old maps showed several routes into Pine Valley - but there is now only one.

Temple - WOJ
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 9:09 pm
Sorry norts, not Temple and not WOJ. Where is everyone? Watching cricket?
Fri 31 Jul, 2009 9:50 pm
Wow i thought norts would have had it for sure! I'll hazard a guess at somewhere on the Traveller Range?
Sat 01 Aug, 2009 9:58 am
No not the traveler range, probably my photo was to hard again, so I suggest you look at some of my posts in the bushwalking in tasmania or bushwalking discussion forum to get some clues. You can actually find another photo of the area which I took at the same trip

So it's Ironstone Mountain then? Great photo, but as I haven't been there I wouldn't have picked it.
I was initially thinking Walls as well, Mt Temple. When that was wrong I was going to get the Walls map out and see what other peaks are in that area.

Ok tasadam over to you then. Because not many people have been there I won't ask where exactly I am standing.
Sat 01 Aug, 2009 10:23 am
OK This one should be easy.

Mmmm - might be for a northerner....how about Mt Beecroft?
Sat 01 Aug, 2009 12:34 pm
Not Beecroft. A well known place, this is taken from.
Doesn't look like it, but there's a fair bit of zoom in that image.
