We are in the early stages of planning this walk and based on the scant reading done so far it could be dependent on tides. So when is the best time for low tide to occur based on the days walking: early morning, afternoon - doesn't matter. I remember on one walk we did to South West Cape the sea and tides prevented us from getting to Ketchum Bay camp and we had to turn back.

After doing the SC track twice in the last few years,
I've found a dead low tide about 8 am on the 2nd morning to get around Black cliff
and from their on the tides should be right all the way.
11-12 am Prion beach 2-3 pm Granite beach.
You'll love it. Cheers.

Bumper - thanks for this insight. I will now refer to the Tide Charts. Add maybe an hour (or is it deduct) to allow for the slower walkers.
Cheers

Hey mate,
I'm fresh back from there (again), and I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are a few spots where a high tide with swell could be bad, but I just walk as normal knowing that it's possible (but probably unlikely) that I might have to wait a few hours for a change of tide!
Cheers
