It's a renowned stop-over point on Atlantic crossing.
There's even a saying that "If you travel to Horta and do not you visit the 'Peter Café Sport', you didn't really see Horta."

Thanks

Lower section of Yosemite Falls in Yosemite N.P??

Interesting how unique the Yosemite is in respect to its geologic characteristics - Cholock.

Yes, and I would have liked more time to explore it. An excuse to return I guess.
MickyB wrote:Lower section of Yosemite Falls in Yosemite N.P??
Yes, Lower Yosemite Falls. A lot of water coming down vertically from a great height.
Unfortunately ran out of time to hike to the top. Your go MickyB.

Thanks John. It looks awesome.
I don't have any photos. GPSGuided also knew the answer so I will pass my turn over to him.

Thanks for the offer MickyB. Been busy since our wonderful Tassie holiday and haven't been able to check regularly. Sorry. Glad Icefest jumped in in good time. Ummm... I'll have to think about this one.

Well, I messed that up.
I rechecked the geolocation of the image and it seems I remembered wrong. It is Ben Lomond from Loch Lomond :/
All yours Johnw. :/

No problem icefest, thanks but I couldn't accept that one in good conscience. I looked up the Loch Lomond view and surprised how similar the two scenes appear. GPSGuided forfeited a turn earlier so I propose that he goes next.

You guys are too kind. Thanks! Just so I have one on hand and to help keep the thread flowing...
Name the geographic location and feature. NZ - South Island. Shouldn't be difficult I don't think as it's on a regular tourist route.

Devil's Staircase - Along Route 6 by the shores of Lake Wakatipu.

Milford sound?
Wed 11 Feb, 2015 10:37 pm
Sorry, not Milford Sound but many going and coming back from MS will pass through this section, though most would not take note of this named feature. Also, no such paved hwy along MS. The twists and turns along this section of the highway was a delight for the driver in me.

Were you driving along beside Lake Wakatpu and The Remarkables between Queenstown and Kingston>
Thu 12 Feb, 2015 7:15 am
Yep, on highway 6.
