Unprepared for the extra bounce, pace and size of the G, after playing all their earlier matches at home.

Still, I wouldn't throw in the towel yet. Aus are notoriously bad at chasing small totals and you have two of the four best bowlers of the tournament. It isn't over yet.

too many games at eden park, its a rugby ground not a cricket pitch... MCG's a bowlers pitch... they had nz well and truly contained....
our best batsman is a south african...

Yeah, I don't normally get too involved in cricket, but it is the final.
The other reason that we have it on the teli now is we have relis across the ditch and it is beyond important that aus wins!
We are going to do you wayno!!

Oi, OI, OI. :D

Sorry about that, wayne. But your boys did damn well throughout this tournament. Worthy finalists.

Hehe - when I boarded the Supershuttle at Christchurch airport a month ago the driver was playing the first A/NZ match on the radio. The Aussies where getting hammered, and the driver was reveling in it. But Aussie teams don't give up and it ended up a one ball match.
When I boarded the Supershuttle to Christchurch airport yesteday, the driver was looking for an Aussie to heckle, and there was plenty of banter, in which the Indian passengers joined (on the Kiwi side)
But despite the NZ sporting press doing their best to talk their team up - even with detailed analysis of the boundary lengths at the MCG vs Eden Park, playing at the MCG in front of 90,000 had to be a bigger challenge than hitting suxes on postage stamp grounds against second tier teams.

yeah eden park seems spectacular with all the sixes that get smashed, but its a field sized for boys unlike the MCG and it doesnt have the pace on the pitch, the aussie bowlers took full advantage of the pitch that we couldnt... our spin bowlers werent effective.

I wouldn't go that far. It was a fairly typical MCG one-day pitch. It's just that our boys know how to use it. I doubt any of your bowlers would have played much there apart from Danny Vettori.
