Back to Europe - France this time.....taken towards the end of a long multi-day hike.

Cevennes? As part of the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail?
Robert Louis Stevenson was ok, but I hear Modestine was a real *&%$#! to hike with.

I've got no photos to post if I'm correct but as no one else has guessed I'll take a stab and say somewhere along the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail (your clue being 'Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes' by RLS)???

Yes MickeyB, I was getting worried no one would be able to pick it.

I was in the Cevennes on the GR70, following in the footsteps of the literary great Robert Louis Stevenson and Modestine his donkey. Some people do the hike authentically with a donkey!

Thanks msrj. Your clue really helped - I wouldn't have got it without it.

Anyone can post next :D

Haven't been there - but I could imagine this might be the Caples valley?

I guess it could have been a rather common scene in NZ.
But I started at a well frequented place.

Next one in NZ.

I won't answer because I've got no more photos to post but I think this is on the path to Franz Josef Glacier.

It is. Maybe only half an hr out from Dart Hut, en route to Cascade Saddle (which is hidden behind the spur in the middle of the picture), looking up at Mt Edward and Marshall Glacier. Over to you.
