Hey guys! The title really says it all. Some friends and I are headed off on a long (7-10 day) trip. During that time we'll be in the-middle-of-nowhere and I really want to try and track our walks as best I can, but
more importantly know that I have a back up plan in case my map skills fail me.
Can anyone recommend a good iPhone app for this? I am not worried much about money (under $100), I just need to know I can rely on it.
Features I'd like- Full offline maps
- Ideally high quality topographical maps
- Setting and remembering waypoints easily
- Tracking of the walk (i.e. mapping it out)

MotionX is quite highly regarded, I believe. I have an android phone so I use a different app, but MotionX should be able to do all the things you are after. See:

I use a dedicated GPS but a few people i know swear by the MapOut App;

I assume you know there's not enough battery juice in the iPhone to support GPS track logging over the 7 days. You'll need a solution to recharge. Otherwise, MotionX-GPS is a good app for the purpose. You can download OSM tiles for user defined area. Galileo Pro is another interesting one that I'm checking out of recent.

Ron, how do you find the speed of 3D rendering in Maps 3D app? Personally I find it sluggish on a 6 and not very pleasant in practical use. Otherwise, it's pretty.

It's a bit sluggish using the global online map but works fine with downloaded maps.
