Actually - I know someone else who offers up such cryptic clues in this competition
Anyway - should be easier, but try for a little precision:

Not quite norts - look carefully at the left side of the photo

Going up the scree slope in between the 2 towers before you go over the back

Yes norts - its from the top of the climbing gully between the 2 rock towers.
A grand place - with an unobstructed view over the whole area below.
PS I should add for those who haven't been
The peaks from left to right are Doris - Pelion East - Cathedral (with all its various peaks around the edge) - Castle Crag/Falling Mountain - Massif
with the larger lake being lake McFarlane - with a good smattering of golden fagus around it.
With guest appearances on the skyline of the Walls of Jerusalem and Mt Rogoona

Wed 09 Sep, 2009 12:05 pm
Hahaha cheers man! Wanted to post a nice pic for a change rather than just one I was trying to stump people with

The Island should be quite recognisable....
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 12:46 pm
Yeah - nice pic. South Coast I'd say. First guess is from Cox Bight,
cheers
Peter
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 12:49 pm
Ok at least we have a start... south coast is right but not the usual south coast 99% of people do......
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 12:52 pm
Aha - then you're more towards SW Cape. Ketchem Bay?
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 12:58 pm
Not Ketchem....
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 1:02 pm
I gotta go out now, whynotwalk is getting very close and I presume he will guess the next beach along Hidden bay in which case he will be spot on!!
SO much nicer down there than along the south coast slog with the hordes of people....
SO to keep it rollong over to you matey!!
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 1:04 pm
Hmmm - I've been there, and I know I'm getting the sniff ....
What about Hidden Bay!
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 1:07 pm
Thanks SW Tas .. Totally agree with your assessment. A marvellous place, esp. if the weather is kind.
Okay - a different part of the state this time.
cheers
Peter

I think it looks something like the Ben Lomond plateau kinda area... how about Sphinx Bluff or Pavement Bluff?
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 2:01 pm
Close Mark - right area, wrong bluff.
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 2:13 pm
Hamilton Crag?
(wracks brain for other peaks on the plateau...)
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 2:22 pm
It's a bluff ... an' I'm not bluffing!
Wed 09 Sep, 2009 2:23 pm
From Stacks Bluff looking across to Wilmot Bluff + Asgard Cragg in the immediate foreground?
