Bit tough handing it over to stubowling
This is normally the time when he hops on and answers one
(keep up the good work stu - its participation - at least regular restrained participation - that keeps the show going.)
Anyway - this has taken me an awful long time to figure - a terrific spot in the photo.
Couldn't squeeze it into Pindars or Mt Lot - none of the Overland Track (which ILUVSWTAS has yet to get to) - or any of the ranges down the south east side .
The sharp ridge and peak and the columns at the rear combined with a largish deeply incised lake had me scratching my head. Oops careful not to thin the hair out any more.
But he should have said - "I will be going here soon" - that would have helped
Anyway - about the only spot I can match it too is a view of Lake Rufus etched into the sides of the King William Range.
The peak on the ridge probably has a name - but its not in the LIST.
So the pecular columns to the rear must belong to one of the peaks in the Loddon Range. They are definitely rough, but my only photo is end on - so I cannot see any columns if they were there.
Anyway - to get this view I suggest a zoom shot from Mt Hobhouse.
