It looks like there is 4 or 5mm leeway for thicker planks but timber generally comes in standard thicknesses. Are all platforms made using the same thickness?

Can you buy different sized anchors?

Great idea. Saves worrying about missing 'fixed' anchor points.

Nice looking but not sure it passes the bulk and weight departments. Same can easily be achieved with a few wire hooks.

or a cup hook for skinny gaps between planks. Doesn't matter how thick the planks are then. Easier to retrieve than tent pegs. Easier to replace as well as generally being lighter. Although they don't look as flash as those

I can see these doing double duty tho
Using these in soft soil/sand,snow etc would allow the easy use of doubled pegs and the curve looks like it would suit the most commonly used snow pegs or reasonably thick twigs & branchlets

They look heaps easier to use with freezing hands than cuphooks. I would like to try them.

The only issue I see with them is you would need to also carry small carabiners to pitch your tent to them if that's actually an issue.

No I take that back, if your guy line is long enough it can be looped through

Could work well on shelters with continuous looped guylines Dan. E.g. Hilleberg tunnels or Tarptent pitch-loc corners.

I ran out of excuses not to buy some so I ordered two sets.....another 64g to carry

They'll work, I can't see the gap being 60+mm but the decking timbers here are only around 30-40mm.
We have used similar made from big split pins, I wouldn't rely on them between the joists but you can slide them to the nearest one before tightening.

They'll work on a conventional guy by passing a loop through the eye and then the whole thing back through the loop ie. two half hitches.

The new platforms at Narcissus have a different tie down/chain system that may work better, may be adopted elsewhere. Cup hooks work very well also (if a bit tough for little fingers). Be aware, go easy on them, they can snap off.

Always put cup anchors in by hand to prevent breaking them off in timber which is too hard. They don't have to go all the way in for a good grip. Try and find natural gaps to reduce the effort to get them in.

Place a tent peg through the cup as a lever to make removal easy on cold hands.

And if you happen to break one (never happened to me yet using above method), get out a multi tool with mini pliers and retrieve it. Nothing worse than camping platforms with the dangers of selfish past users.

Actually this is the length overall. The description says they work on planks up to 30mm thick. Placing my order now!

Then again maybe not.. lol. I can't recall the size, I was thinking closer to 40 than 30, probably 1 1/4 - 1 1/2".

Why complicate things. Just find a stick, fix it to your guy and drop it through the gap. Works for me.

Lol, it's actually simplifying things if you end up the one screwing in a couple of dozen cuphooks or finding that many twigs, jury rigging that many tent pegs per night.

I guess if you are local to tracks with platforms or regularly use the same ones. They are cheap and light enough. shrug. You can make do with wires, and rocks, there's always loose rocks left on platforms, works but not ideal. I wouldn't use the wires alone, not even for freestanding tents.

just to make it clear that i doubt 30mm will span the thickness of common P&W platform decking.
