Are you at Impression Bay?
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 8:05 am
No
Clue is that it appears to be the largest of these beaches and it is only just the right peninsula
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 9:01 am
Cascades Bay, Koonya?
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 9:12 am
No
The town after which the beach is named can hold you up if you are driving
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 9:56 am

Wed 16 Sep, 2009 10:06 am

Looks a tiny bit like the hazards, but since you posted it, probably somewhere in the South West.
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 12:10 pm
Probably could be right!!
Not the hazards.....
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 12:12 pm
Could be looking along the Denison Range by the looks of the geology?
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 12:14 pm
Kind of close, but not denisons....
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 1:03 pm
I guess the obvious clue would be to look at the right hand side of the mountain where the cloud is just covering the top.....
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 1:55 pm
Don't worry - we are all thumbs here

PS - thanks to mickeymoo for his fabulous pics from the Needles
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 2:01 pm

Well done eggs (and Mickeymoo)
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 2:03 pm

Wed 16 Sep, 2009 2:22 pm

1 question and 3 different answers in 3 replies.
wow.
Firstly - it is Rugby on the right - that most distinctive of shapes. Normally seen from the other side - at least in this game.
Secondly - there are an awful lot of big mountains between Payne/Bond Bays and Rugby.
The "official" answer is not in your list, but I have sent a message querying it. As I suspect a slightly different location.
Do you mind waiting
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 8:59 pm
Hahaha no no I can wait.... it's not like all I do is sit here on this site... (when im not actually walking that is)
It's a very nice photo and I dont mind looking at it for longer.
I REALLY want to climb rugby, You been up it Eggs???
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 9:08 pm
I had a friend do the South Coast Track last year when we were in the WA & at Frenchman's Cap.
The South West corner I have never visited, although there are rough plans to do the round trip past SW Cape, but maybe not for 2 years.
Rugby certainly looks to be a star vantage point, and some people climb it from boat trips. If I ever get there, that might be the way it happens.
Wed 16 Sep, 2009 9:12 pm
Nice option if you can get it! Ive done the SW circuit, a very very nice walk! Away from crowds, Very little mud and nice open on and off track walking. Window pane is also the nicest beach ive ever been on!
Sitting at horseshoe inlet staring at Rugby for hrs was what gave the the desire to climb it, and now being a peakbagger I have other motivations. A VERY impressive peak given the surroundings.

Not sure how long tastrax will be - but I am very confident of my reasoning.
So I will give it to you for your 2nd guess - Balmoral Beach.
