I can't verify the weight as in weighing them yet but yes the ad does say they are 8g each.

Having custom made boards is not going to help you with the existing ones.
I think that the problem is that you guys opted for the tebt anchors instead of the ones for tents.

This was Pelion on The Overland Track, they are all the same (on OLT, not sure abt the new ones at Narcissus, probably). It's not fine finish nor rough sawn, not sure exact thickness, must be 35mm+ Are bearers standard at 450mm? anyhow, close enough so you really only need a stop for the guyline and then slide up to bearer, left on guyline, packed with tent.

They would be pretty much useless at Narcissus. But, you don't need them on the new platforms there with the lines of nails they've put along some of the boards anyway

Well.....my draftee has knocked up a CAD drawing extending the anchor to fit 50mm boards. Have arranged to have some made.

They have a sort of chain-lock system at Narcissus? (I didn't look but was sent a pic of them) (as well as nails). Parks can't really do anything like these individual anchors without complications. They (similar things we've used) work better than the nail rows or any fixed anchor system.

Weeds, the only drama you might find if they are too long they might give enough angle to just slide anyway without holding, hence only really needing the bottom part if sliding up to bearers?

Just thinking if it's really windy and tension comes off a rope I'm wondering the anchors will slide than you loose all tension.

Anyways they are getting made, between the five of us (4 each) we won't feel the weight. They will be stainless with very sharp points.

From a sailing perspective, you would use a cleat, in this case a vee cleat fixed to the platforms, with, some guy line. as the OLT Bok says...."take some twine with you to enable pitching on the tent platforms. Or 8 inch rings of shock cord around the board.
Or a nice screw, like a batten screw between the decking boards...

although, it did occur to me, that if the top could somehow be twisted to 90 degrees, they would work in any thickness boards.

It is a fine idea, just needs development.

Or contact the manufacturer and set them right.

I read a reference to tent platform anchors elsewhere and thought I might ask if anyone has used them recently and are there any particular ones which are better than others? Thinking specifically of the tent platforms on the Overland Track.

I would assume given this thread is 5 years old now, that there might be some different styles and manufacturers around now (might be wrong, frequently am).

I only used them on the platform at High Moor on the WAs but I wouldn't use them again and not on the corners. Useless in most cases as they have to be in tension to work properly otherwise they slip around. Impossible task in the wind. Maybe I would carry only 3 or 4 for the odd place and only with the guy line.

At any point on the timber platforms you can only really be at most half the distance between the deck bearers and half the distance between board width from a solid attachment point. I can't recall if they are 45 or 60cm between bearer centres and 200mm boards/2 but anyhow 35cm maximum corner guyline reach should be pleanty.

For the Overland, I took a few of the fishbone style platform anchors you can grab on ebay etc, and some guyline. Others used screw in hooks, but these are sharp and could pierce your bag and gear.

If using screw-in hooks - like cup hooks - don't leave them attached to guylines. Keep in a small container - like the plastic box they tend to come packaged in (with rubber band if necessary) and then they can't damage your other gear.

Agree, we use a small clip lock plastic container as we've found the plastic packaging the hooks come in doesn't really stand up to repeated use.
