Anyone walked the direct route from Lot to Lots Wife? Rugged?
I'm planning a walk to Lot from an overnight at Lonely Tarns, and was looking at the feasibility of completing a loop to Lots Wife then back down to the tent at Lonely Tarns.
Moderate fitness and speed with only a daypack......how any hours??
Any insight to this probably rarely used section would be much appreciated.

Rugged is the word: big dolerite (of course) up top and slippery slopes to negotiate further along. Scrubby at the eastern end when approaching the normal route to Lot's Wife. So it's doable but I won't be doing it again.

I did it with a full pack. It's rugged and not well marked. I managed to lose the cairned route and did some fairly vertical work to get off! Bit of scrub as described by sowestas There are really good and interesting views over the lonely tarns from the Ridge but it is not a route for the inexperienced
