There is a lookout on the Lake Highway which has a lovely view over the Liffey Forest Reserve above the Liffey River.
There are some tracks that run down through this reserve to the Liffey Falls.
The view is looking east along the Great Western Tiers.
We stopped there on one of our trips.

That would be the spot eggs
Nice little side-trip when I had a couple of hours to kill coming back to Launceston from the NW coast this past week. A little further and you reach Pine Lake which is a lovely little short walk on the plateau too.
Over to you!

Hartz Plateau looking at the Devils backbone?
Mon 28 Sep, 2009 3:23 pm
Yes - its early on the track to Hartz peak - just as it rises up to the flats above the car park.

I have several similar looking shots! Including the Backbone on the way back from Hartz peak is a great little circuit too!

Yeh mate was a bit hairy though! Had a Massive gum come down in one of the many landslides 50m from our house. made a HUGE crash which had us running to the windows to see whats going on, luckily we are on a hill at 70m elevation so we escaped the floods! Lots of people not so lucky though!!
Your in the south I see? any fun around your area??
Nice Pic.. no ideas yet....

We survived this one, but the water.....the hillside I live on has been leeching water for at least 2 months.

Crater Lake from the Overland Track up from near the boat shed?
Looks to be late autumn - with the last remnants of the fagus yet to drop.

Right area, right time of year, but.....wrong lake - there were 12 disinct 'waterfalls' dropping into this lake with rainbows coming and going in seconds.....invigorating to say the least.

Gosh - I am getting sloppy.
I hadn't even thought of that cute lake embedded high up under the face of cradle.......
I don't deserve a second crack - someone else better finish it off.

I think you will find it's spelt Wilkes

But I'm feeling generous
Was a great day there, visibility under Little Horn on the Face Track was about 10m, yesterday in Hobart reminded me of that day.
Cup-a-soup was heaven after that walk.

Lake Price on the Arm River Track?

That's a fairly distinctive fallen tree there in the shadows and I think most people who've walked past it would recognise it.
