Yes, eggs.

The rocks visible on the slope to the right are all an incredible bright orange. It's a very apt name.

OK then.
First an apology. There is a 3 passes walk in that area, but Fiery Col is part of the 5 passes variant.
A very wild but enticing looking walk.

Looks like Victoria Falls? Not sure if there are many other waterfalls in Africa with that long gorge feature......

Wasn't meant to be hard.
Yes - the Victoria Falls ["the smoke that thunders"] as seen from the Zimbabwe end.
We had a medium flow - which is good for viewing.
At full flow the spray covers everything, while at low flow not much of the width of the falls is operating.

Hmmm, no takers........

Although the mountain I am on is in Switzerland many of the peaks in the background are not (including a very well known one)

I thought some of it looked familiar.
So Mt Blanc massif at the back, Aiguilles Rouges, Buet, Tete a l'ane in view - so maybe from Haute Cime on the Dents Du Midi range

Good work - yep descending Haute Cime. I got super lucky with great Autumn weather. Highly recommended climb that doesn't really require any technical experience (just a fairly good head for heights!)

Yes - had terrific clear air there.

Next one - I am after a town in Italy which provided this view.

Looks like Lake Como (recognize the island off Lenno).

So I you are perhaps the track up to Corniga from Colonno?

Correct lake. Wrong town. We went up by cable car and then walked back down on a curious old road / track.

Ah right - didn't initially make a link to cable car (assumed those numerous cables in your photo were powerlines) but your comments suggest you may have been up at/near Pigra.

Ha Ha - the cables are powerlines [pity as I could not get a view without them], but the town was indeed Pigra.

Nice deception (didn't think a cable car would have that sort of array of cables.......)

Lets move to a continent we haven't had in a while. What mountain in Peru are we looking at?

I haven't been there but let's try Misti Volcano rising from the plains near Arequipa?

Yeah that's the one - photo was taken from the opposite side of the mountain to Arequipa (from the east, from a high elevation plateau).

Thanks MM, it looks a high region - Altiplano? I'm a bit short of time at present, anyone can go next.

Thanks johnw. This one is in Africa. I'll settle for the name of the mountain range.

Great photo ribuck - Looks like one from the older archives....

Not positive on this but the flat mountain tops suggest it may be in the Drakensberg Mountains?

After Mt Kenya, that area of Africa comes in a close second to places I want to visit (in Africa).

Correct, MountainMadness, it's the Southern Drakensberg (in 1981, with a much younger me on the right).

The peak on the right is The Sentinel, and we are close to Mont-Aux-Sources, the highest point in South Africa. Just out of the photo to the left is Lesoto. You buy a camping pass from the National Park which also covers you if you stray across the border (which comes right up to the edge in some places). There are plenty of camping caves in the Southern Drakensberg, marked on the topo map, so no need to take a tent. There's often a violent electrical storm around 3pm so you really want to drop off the ridge because lightning will be zotting down all around.

Over to you!

Yep that's the one. I'll recommend Earnslaw - nice challenge with great view of Mt Aspiring and surrounds and only requiring a low level of technical skills (depending on which time of year you climb)

Great effort to get up there.
Did you use the bivouac hut?

Next one is back in Switzerland - more of a tourist shot..
Where I am taking the shot from has a name.
